LA TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS

I've been invited to share a booth with the Greater Los Angeles Writers Society at the LA Times Festival of Books later this month. The festival, which attracts huge crowds of people to the UCLA campus in Westwood, will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 25th and 26th. I plan to be there on Saturday. I know the Booth number (715) and there'll be a map in the program book. I don't know yet exactly what my hours will be, but I'll post them as soon as I do.

I had Golden Gryphon send me a box of books (The Guild of Xenolinguists) to sell, and I have some copies of Reading the Bones lying around too. I haven't taken part in this festival for a number of years and it's quite exciting to be doing so again!

Here's a web site for further information on the festival:

More info when I know it.

Comments

I was considering going on Saturday -- maybe I'll come and act rowdy in front of your booth.
I'm unfortunately doing a haiku workshop for the Chaparral Poets convention at a hotel in Ontario at the same time....

:(
If I could get you some copies of the Rhysling anthology (unfortunately I think it will have to be the 2007, I don't think the 2008 will be done in time...), would you be able to sell them?

Have a few SFPA flyers?

(Just thought I'd ask....)
I don't know, Debbie. It would be fine by me, but I'm just a guest on that table. I guess you wouldn't lose anything by emailing Tony Todaro at the GLAWS web site and asking.
You know, since you're just a guest, let's not make waves.....I think I have another way to get the SFPA pubs there & will work on that avenue.

I hope you sell a lot of books! Being there will help - I know that I tend to buy books more when the author is sitting there smiling at me......

:)

(which is why, of course, the Festival of Books can be murder on one's book budget!)
